From the Workbench, you want to bring up the transaction in question by clicking on the dates in the center of the screen. Once the transaction is brought up, click Collect Payment located under the Totals section. NOTE: The transaction must be in Reservation status before you are able to collect payment.
Select the appropriate method type in the Payment Method drop down. Note: If you are not set up to collect credit card payments and want more information on how to get started, click HERE for someone to reach out to you.
If you are set up to collect credit card payments and you select card as the payment method, you will have a second drop down in which you will select either Manual Entry or Swipe Card. NOTE: You will only have the Swipe Card option if you have a credit card terminal and it is connected to communicate with Essentials. If you have a credit card terminal and it is not connected to communicate with Essentials, click HERE to reach out to our credit card support team.
Enter the amount to collect and click Save. Note: If the customer is paying all the remaining balance, you can easily click in the colored area and the amount will auto populate in the Amount Being Collected field.
If you are collecting payment via credit card and you have a credit card terminal connected, the terminal will react and the customer will then swipe or insert their card. If you don't have a credit card terminal or collecting payment over the phone, a Payment screen will come up once all the above steps are completed.
If you are not collecting payment via credit card, you won't go thru the above screen. The transaction is automatically paid when the Save button is clicked.
Congratulations! You have now collected payment and the transaction is paid in full.
